They succeeded because they did it together.
I’ve been thinking about that duck-leader.
And, wondering…how many duck-conversations she (or he) had to initiate to lay out the plan and build support.
The moment she signaled “It’s ‘go’ time” I wonder how many of those 17 forged ahead with confidence; and how many that put one webbed foot in front of the other simply because they saw everyone else was doing it.
Getting from ‘here’ to ‘there’ looks like it happens in a moment.
But, in reality, it’s just the final stage of months (sometimes years) of conversations, credibility building, vision, trust-building, and influence.
Never forget that the pre-event IS the work.
It’s just as important to have a plan for building your coalition of believers as it is to execute the mission.
